Lofoten part 2

So we got these two days with nice and sunny weather. That was really important as it was the last few days left with potential midnight sun. The next day started with overcast and cloudy weather and more wind. I thought it was great and a chance to see Lofoten in these conditions.

Here is one shot from the middle of the day. It is a 40 seconds long exposure.

Later in the evening, 1030 pm.., we tried some fishing right next to our cabin. My youngest dauther got lucky and catched one fish after the other. Being new to actually getting fish when fishing, it was great fun for her and for all watching her. And at the same time get to see the late night sun starting to blend in with the dramatic clouds were just magic.

Here are more photos from that late afternoon session

The shot below is quite nice I think. 1/3 seconds, 19 mm. and F10. It may lack a bit balance in the clouds but the blue skies to the left top corner can also work to counter balance the rocks in the foreground. Not quite sure.

Hamnøya fishing cabins and Reinefjorden

I tried to edit the photos in slightly different colour tonesm more yellowish and blue as the one below. The colours in the clouds did vary a lot, but I think the edits with more orange and red tones are more true to what the light was in genereal that night

This was the last shot of the day, 2.50 am….This is a 4 seconds exposure and the last direct sunlight and the sun was blocked by the mountains by the mountains to the east.

The following day was back to blue skies and worked great as a day off for photography. The following night at Uttakleiv on the other hand, was a new adventure with minight sun and huge waves crashing in on the rocks on the beach. To be continued in a few days!
